Bemerkungen | I have seen one large meteor trailing smoke in the daytime over western Montana (1970’s, I believe) which was widely reported and thought to have possibly skipped off the atmosphere or landed in Canada, and have spent many nights watching meteor showers in the dark skies of the Methow Valley and other rural sites of the Northwest. This was the second brightest event I have witnessed (in my 76 years), and I thought it could have been a meteor or could have been satellite debris on reentry. |

Bemerkungen | One fragment dropped in an arc directly in front (due north), about 1/4 the brightness of the fireball. No smoke trail seen, lost brightness before approaching surface |
