Bemerkungen | I've never seen anything like this and I've seen lots of shooting stars from mountain tops. This was with me at sea level with a 3/4 moon above the event and a street light to my 3oclock. It was clearly visible, so much so that my wife saw it without her glasses. I don't have a picture of it didn't have my phone on me at the time but it would have easily taken a photo. When I saw it the object had just split apart. If I had to describe it at a smaller scale, imagine shooting a gun into a pile of embers, with all the small embers going in every direction. That was a constant random swirl that expanded over the course of maybe 15 seconds, long enough for me to shout to my wife to get out here and look at this. She saw the expanding swirl for at least 5 seconds. One of the objects kept tracking directly towards us and it was bigger than the other object. This one burned out fast, while the smaller one went right (southward) and was faint but visible for a couple minutes as it went south over the horizon as it burned out. Initially this one had a big conical plume as it started traveling southward, the kind you see from asteroids. Please email me if you need more information, thanks! |

Bemerkungen | The object had split in two, I saw it probably 10 seconds after it split. One object was tracking left then towards us, the other tracked right continuously. As the separated, there were lots of bright sparks expanding. I think it was an object tracking towards me that broke apart and I saw it breaking apart from a dead on view point. The one tracking towards us was a bright orange then was gone after 10 seconds. The one diverting right had a large conical plume coming off of it and went very far to the right over the course of a minute or more. |
